Books by Lynn Salsi
Lynn Salsi has written twelve books and has more forthcoming. Her passion for history, storytelling, people, and education is evident in her voracious research. Stop and read her book list below to see that her passion comes forth in the range of material she has written.
Among her most popular books is The Jack Tales containing the stories of the Hicks family of Banner Elk, NC. The famous tales passed through generations through oral tradition since the late 1700s. Salsi is pleased that the stories were not transcribed, but were written down in the Hicks' home during hundreds of hours of interviews. This has made Salsi an authority on the life and times of Ray Hicks. First editions are considered collectors items and can be found on online auctions. Her newest book, Young Ray Hicks Learns the Jack Tales, will be followed in 2007 by a new Jack Tale anthology.
